Response of Water Radiation Utilization of Summer Maize to Planting Density and Genotypes in the North China Plain

چکیده

Increasing the planting density of summer maize to improve utilization efficiency limited soil and water resources is an effective approach; however, how leaf water-use (WUEL), yield, RUE respond genotypes remains unclear. A 2-year field experiment was performed in North China Plain (NCP) investigate effects (high, 100,000 plants ha?1; medium, 78,000 low, 56,000 ha?1) (Zhengdan 958 Denghai 605) on area index (LAI), photosynthetic characteristics, dry-matter accumulation, WUEL, maize. The objective explore effect genotype WUEL boosted LAI, light interception, spike number but reduced chlorophyll content, net rate, transpiration 1000-kernel weight. Both high low densities were averse yield. Zhengdan increased by 19.45% compared with 605, 605 18.19% higher than 958, suggesting that had a greater production potential as increased. Our findings recommend using ha?1 maintain yields NCP.

Impact of spatial-temporal variations of climatic variables on summer maize yield in North China Plain

Summer maize (Zea mays L.) is one of the dominant crops in the North China Plain (NCP). Its growth is greatly influenced by the spatial-temporal variation of climatic variables, especially solar radiation, temperature and rainfall. The WOFOST (version 7.1) model was applied to evaluate the impact of climatic variability on summer maize yields using historical meteorological data from 1961 to 20...

Characteristics of water consumption in water-saving winter wheat and effects on the utilization of subsequent summer rainfall in the North China Plain

Winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) grows in dry season but summer maize (Zea mays L.) coincides with rainfall in the North China Plain (NCP). Increasing rainfall use efficiency and harmonizing its utilization between the two species is an effective way to mitigate impact on groundwater deriving from wheat irrigation. One to four times water supply (W1, to W4) were employed in wheat, three wate...

Response of Soil CO2 Emission and Summer Maize Yield to Plant Density and Straw Mulching in the North China Plain

Demand for food security and the current global warming situation make high and strict demands on the North China Plain for both food production and the inhibition of agricultural carbon emissions. To explore the most effective way to decrease soil CO2 emissions and maintain high grain yield, studies were conducted during the 2012 and 2013 summer maize growing seasons to assess the effects of w...

HYDRUS Simulation of Sustainable Brackish Water Irrigation in a Winter Wheat-Summer Maize Rotation System in the North China Plain

Freshwater resources in the North China Plain (NCP) are near depletion due to the unceasing overexploitation of deep groundwater, by far the most significant source of freshwater in the region. To deal with the deepening freshwater crisis, brackish water (rich but largely unused water in agriculture) is increasingly being used in irrigation in the region. However, inappropriate irrigation with ...
